Vacation Guide: What To Wear And How To Pack

Summer is the perfect time to get out of the city and to go on a much needed vacation. Whether it is an an exciting trip to Europe or a relaxing getaway to the beach, there always seems to be just one problem...what the heck to pack?!

It is so hard to know what clothing you will actually need (or want) once you get to your final destination. And if you are anything like me, you always end up packing half of your closet - most of which ends up going back home untouched!

So without further ado, here are some outfit ideas regardless of your travel plans, plus my top pointers when it comes to packing...

MAXI LOOK

The first thing you need to consider when it comes to your vacation style is comfort. So, before you choose what to take on your next trip, check the weather forecast to get an idea what to expect. Just because it is summer back home, doesn't mean it's 90 degrees everywhere!

If you are the kind of girl who loves to explore outside of the typical tourist spots, opt for classic pieces and then accessorize them to get a fabulous look. Midi or maxi skirts + a pair of sandals will look great and keep you cool when strolling around old cobble stone streets. Don't forget your sunglasses and a stylish, carryall bagJessie's outfit is head-to-toe perfect for travel. It not only fits well inside a suitcase, but also works for multiple destinations!

STYLISH DRESS

One of my best tricks for packing is to stand in front of your closet and layout an outfit for each vacation day. Remember, it is best to opt for basic items that can easily be accessorized with fun jewelry, a scarf or hat. And because temperatures almost always take a turn, I always carryon a light jacket or cardigan.

Dresses are ideal for any trip, and SO easy to pack.  You can style them in so many ways without getting bored. Lisa's gorgeous lace dress can be dressed up or down and photographs so well, making it an ideal piece for travel!

FUN SEPARATES

Another important tip for packing is to choose shoes that will match the majority of your outfits. I typically take one pair of comfy sneakers, chic flats, and then finally a pair of fun wedges or heels to dress up my evening looks. If space is a major issue, always opt for comfort over style. I know this sounds crazy, but trust me when I say that sore and achey feet from packing the wrong shoes can quite literally ruin your vacation!

To avoid any style mistakes while away, try to keep your outfits in simple lines and neutral tones. While I do praise the ease of a dress, the benefit to separates is you can pack one or two pairs of pants and pair them with several different tops. Courtney's off-the-shoulder blouse is super chic, and her classic white jeans are perfect for pairing with different tops!
