I still remember purchasing my very first trench coat at the age of sweet 16. The best part about that purchase is that I (assuming I was the same size) could still wear it today - almost twenty years later - without skipping a fashion beat! A trench coat is the epitome of timeless style and as you probably know by now, I am all about filling my closet with classic, well-made pieces. From your basic tan trench to more trendy versions, here are three ways to wear this staple.
CLASSIC TRENCH
This classic look is perfect for work or running errands on the weekend. As much as I love the sex appeal of a closed trench over some sky high heels, some days that just isn't practical. Jenna has perfected this look. Her stripes look so chic peeking out from under her coat, and I love that her flats and lips are a pop of red!

TEXTURED TRENCH
For the fashionistas out there, a spunky trench coat is a fun way to bring color and texture into the winter season. My tip: when wearing a more colorful piece of outerwear, try keeping your look underneath it more subtle. You don't want your dress to clash with your coat, so keep it simple and let your trench do the talking. Juley's simple pairings really let her beautiful lace number speak for itself.

MODERN TRENCH
While I personally tend to opt for a more classic look, I adore the modern and edgy way women are styling their coats today. Layers upon layers, oversized, yet still with a timeless touch, it-girls everywhere are beyond creative in how they are styling their trenches. Jane's look is a great example that is chic and fashion forward. Am I the only one getting major fashion inspo from her zipped denim coat?!
