Autumn is approaching (albeit slowly) and although the weather may not quite reflect it, it is time to start thinking about transitioning into your fall wardrobe. Here are some key elements to keep in mind as you start to prep for colder days and #sweaterweather!
UNDERDRESSING
The end of summer can be a hard for some to swallow, and bundling up in multiple layers of clothing soon becomes laborious rather than fun after the first few cold fronts. If you are anything like me, I always tend to underdress during the first few nights of fall and end up freezing my booty off. To prevent looking completely off-season, try a look similar to Jane's below. Keep some of your summer-style with a lace top, but be proactive and cover it up with a light jacket so that you are ready when the temps inevitably begin to drop.

WHITE CLOTHING
If you are still a firm believer that you should not wear white after Labor Day, I suggest you leave this out-of-date rule behind. When styled properly, white can be a year round color for any and all occasions. For example, I love the way Sally mixes white with black accents making her white jeans the perfect piece to transition into fall!

OVERSIZED SWEATERS
Oversized sweaters are everything to me. They are cute, cozy and such an easy way to pull an outfit together, which is why many so women have fallen hopelessly in love with them. However, there are some key things to keep in mind when wearing an oversized sweater.
For the most flattering effect, this piece should cover your rear BUT should not come down past your knees. Wearing the right size for your body can be the difference between looking like you are wearing a sack and giving you a slimming appearance. Jenna's sweater is the perfect length to give her a slim look.

FALL COLORS
While I tend to fall back on black and white neutrals, I always try to incorporate some color into my fall wardrobe. Pretty, soft hues or jewel tones are my favorites to wear during this festive season. I personally would steer clear from bright neons, and too much orange may have you looking pumkinesque ;) Cathy's dress is a great example for how to bring some color into your fall wardrobe.
