Style Guide: Chic Ways To Pull Off Red & Green This Holiday Season

Happy December my fashion friends! The holidays are officially here and that means you will most certainly start seeing a ton of red and green – if you haven’t already. Whether it’s in the décor, the gifts or even your own closet, these festive colors tend to bring on a certain cheer as we reminisce on all there is to be grateful for this year.

I love getting in the holiday spirit, and that does of course include wearing both red and green – but not necessarily together. Red is, after all, one of my favorite ways to add a pop of color to just about any look and green, well green is associated with jewels and abundance, so what’s not to love about this rich hue?!

If you're still feeling a bit self-conscious on how to wear these festive jewel-tones without looking like a tacky Christmas sweater, let me show you the way forward…

Red Velvet

Luscious, textured and rich are just a few ways to describe this luxurious fabric. Throw in red, and you have a festive look that is not only sophisticated but warm at the same time. This Halogen, tie-sleeve velvet blazer is the perfect hue to give you that red festive gleam, especially for those of you who might be a bit leery of going too bright. Pair it with your favorite skinny jeans and you have a truly hip style for your less formal affairs.

Green With Black

Green paired with black creates the ideal day-to-night look, which proves to be flattering on just about everyone. Throw on your favorite pair of black jeans or paints and decorate with a green top such as this super cozy Veronique Leroy sweater. Add some boots for height and you have the ultimate, casual night out style!

Monochrome Red

For those of you feeling a bit bold in your personal style this season, go for this flawless monochrome combo. While I typically reserve red for a pop of color on my lips or accessories, the holidays are the perfect excuse to go all out! For a new take on formal, pair a ribbed sweater with shorts or a skirt that have a slight sheen. I'm currently obsessed with these higher-waisted Lita Zibeline shorts by Martha Medeiros!! Throw on some heeled booties and grab a classic black clutch and you’re as good as gold!
