Style Guide: 4 Holiday Dresses That Will Make You The Belle Of The Ball

Am I the only one who starts the holiday season wondering "How many parties do I have to attend?!" And by that, I mean how many new dresses do I get to buy?!

No matter if you spend your festivities at work, at home, in a fancy restaurant, or at your neighborhood bar, you are bound to need multiple holiday dresses. You don’t want to be caught in the same outfit two Instagrams in a row, so here are some stylish frocks to keep you inspired and to guarantee you hit up the holiday party circuit in great style.

THE METALLIC DRESS

Metallic is the new sequin, and dresses give this edgy textile a pretty, feminine look. I would suggest sticking to fabrics in the silver or gold color families, and don't forget that a metallic dress is a statement in of itself - so minimize the jewelry. I love that Cathy's dress combines both silver and gold with a little bit of black, flirty tulle.

THE LACE DRESS

Sophisticated, elegant, romantic, seductive and mysterious - these are all words I would use to describe lace. If you have a feminine style, long dresses are the best option for you along with a soft lipstick and delicate jewels. Alicia's modern take on a lace dress is absolutely lovely!

THE VELVET DRESS

I love that velvet is making a comeback, and this updated version of the trend is anything but old lady-esque! For you style mavericks out there, a velvet dress is a fabulous base for what is sure to be chic look. And if you are feeling daring, add a plunging neckline for some added sexuality. Jenny's matching clutch is the perfect accessory.

THE CAPE DRESS

For a conservative office party, a cape dress will allow you to show your personal style while maintaining a professional appearance. It gives you charm, mystery, and elegance. Match it to a sleek bun or ponytail and a cat-eye for a fierce, glamorous look. Christina's version is a fresh take on holiday dresses that I will absolutely be stealing!
