Runway Report: NY Fashion Week 2017

It's that wonderful time of year again! No, Santa is not quite here, but in terms of the fashion world he might as well be. We are in fact talking about New York Fashion Week, and I'm practically salivating over the beautiful fashion trends gracing this year's catwalk.

As a fashion forward bunch, I know you're as keen and eager as me to learn all about the new trends on offer, so let's check out a few of the best.

Prints on Prints

Normally you would think that wearing a print on a matching print would be a major fashion no no, but that rule goes right out of the window this season (as do most fashion rules for that matter)! This Erdem double act of silk, slim-leg pants and silk shirt look amazing paired together, and when you throw on some funky shoes, you get comfort and serious fashion kudos instantly.

Of course, this also means you get to experiment with mixing contrasting prints, but in this case make sure they compliment each other rather than totally clash.

Robes of Glory

Great news for anyone who has been looking for a way to cover up, but still be super-chic and fashionable! The robe is a fantastic go-to you can easily throw over a pair of skinny jeans or pants, such as this Roland Mouret black pair. To avoid looking swamped by material, especially if you are a little shorter, throw on a pair of funky heels to give you that extra height.

You'll see various delicious prints on robes this season, such this Etro Jacquard Duster -  colorful and funky!

Revamped Pony

Fashion week is not just about the clothes and shoes, which wouldn't be complete without the beauty and hair trends making their way down the runways as well! This season's statement pony is a fantastic way to add a hint of personality and femininity into your hair-do. Remember to throw in some hair accessories to further up your fashion statement, as well as some cute ear candy, such as these standout Baublebar fringe earrings

The New Statement Heel

This is by far my favorite trend seen on the catwalk this season! I love shoes, love, love, love them, and this divine pair of Tory Burch metallic sandals sets off even the dullest of outfits. The statement heel is about being loud and proud, but remember to make sure that the overall theme or feel of the outfit ties in with the message of the shoes - they are there to make the real statement after all!

This is just a tiny selection of some of the best trends we found on this season's NY Fashion Week catwalk. Which is your favorite? Which are you going to be rushing out to emulate? For me it's the bold shoe all the way!
