Style Guide: The 4 Key Pieces to Get Your Closet Summer Ready

Spring may have just sprung but we can’t help ourselves from looking forward to summer as the temperatures continue to rise. And if you are anything like us and you have been procrastinating on your spring cleaning (we may or may not still have some winter gear in our closets) then this style guide is just for you!

To make it super simple, we've compiled the 4 key pieces you will need to get your closet summer ready. These looks will be motivation enough for you to finally hide those heavy coats and jackets and usher in some light and breezy pieces.

Key Pieces For Summer: A Fresh Pair of Sandals

Goodbye chunky boots, hello strappy sandals! It’s time to give your feet their much needed time out in the sun by having the perfect pair of sandals you can wear on the daily. If you want to simplify your style to match the laid back vibe of the season, invest in a classic, neutral pair that you can mix and match with at least 80% of your summer wardrobe.

But we also suggest you go bold from time to time with major pops of color (somewhere along the lines of red, blue, and yellow) and fun textures (think velvet, weave, and even patent leather)!

Key Pieces For Summer: A Pretty Dress

What’s summer fashion without that perfect summer dress? Opt for a style that you can wear for lazy day fun, but that you can just as easily dress up for cocktails and an evening out.

You don’t have to play it safe here, and in fact we encourage you to go for fun prints. Florals for summer are still groundbreaking as are summery colors such as pink, yellow, green, orange, and blue. As for the fit, keep it more relaxed and dare to show some skin.

Key Pieces For Summer: A Denim Skirt

Denim has proven to be a fabric for all seasons, so in addition to having your staple jacket and shorts, a denim skirt is a must have for summer! Not only will a denim skirt give you the perfect blend of looking feminine and edgy at the same time, but it is also one of the most versatile pieces on our list.

Among our favorite ways to style the denim skirt is the tried-and-true white shirt with denim combo. Pair this with ankle boots or strappy sandals and you’re good to go!

Key Pieces For Summer: A Colorful Maxi

It’s time to bring out those chic maxi dresses and wear them on your grand vacation—or heck even for just a run to the grocery store. Maxi dresses are an easy way of looking fabulous and chic all in an instant.

Don’t forget your must-have accessories to go with your dress: sunnies, sandals, and a statement-making clutch.
