We are so incredibly grateful for each and every one of our clients, but we are especially thankful for those that have been with us from the beginning and continue to trust us when their closets are ready for a handbag update!! Case in point - Mel Boteri client and friend, Anasa, who first started with us by purchasing a sample, but who has since worked with us one-on-one to create some pretty incredible custom pieces.
For the newest addition to her Mel Boteri collection, Anasa was looking for the perfect work tote that was: 1. Large enough to carry all of her daily essentials, laptop included 2. Lightweight so that it didn't break her shoulders or back once she stuffed it with everything 3. Classic yet stylish so that it would coordinate with most of her outfits, she didn't want to have to swap bags everyday and 4. Was NOT a Louis Vuitton Neverfull lookalike, because who really wants to look like everyone else anyway?! Not this confident chic!
We started with our 'Stuart' tote as a base but made some modifications to fulfill each of Anasa's desires. To lighten the weight of the bag, we opted for a luxurious woven fabric for the body and then accentuated this with leather accents: the straps, bottom, front pocket, and tassel charm. The shoulder straps were widened a bit and we added some length for a more comfortable fit. Because Anasa travels quite a bit for work, she added a top zipper closure to ensure all of her personal and valuable belongings stay secure.
Anasa chose dark navy leather accents over black for a more unique look, and this combination worked well to pair with her closet staples. The lining is, of course, our signature turquoise, but instead of suede we chose a water-resistant nylon fabric for easy cleanup and less weight added to the bag. Our 'Stuart' tote definitely got an upgrade, and we are excited to now have these options to offer our other professional yet stylish clients!
