Fall is finally starting to make its appearance, and if you're anything like me you're already getting your boots out. As one of my all time favorite cool-weather accessories, ankle booties definitely make the top of my shopping list for fall. These short cut shoes are super cute with dresses and skirts, but my favorite way to wear them is with jeans!! Naturally, I created some fabulous outfit ideas for you on how to mix these two closet must-haves.
ANKLE BOOTS + BOYFRIENDS JEANS
My first major style tip on ankle boots is to not cover them!! But this doesn't necessarily mean that you can only pair them with skinny jeans, which is why I present to you the ankle boot + boyfriend jean look. I'm inspired by the way Cathy rolls her jeans so you can see the bootie (but not too much ankle). Pure perfection!! Let the boots reveal their charm ;)

ANKLE BOOTS + SKINNY JEANS
Skinny jeans are by far the easiest way to wear ankle boots, because they typically hit at just the right length. If yours are a little too long you can roll or fold them. My trick: fold your jeans inward. This way you can quickly "tailor" the jeans to your desired length and nobody will notice the cuffed edge!! For best results, iron them out once you've folded them to allow the fabric to settle.
Caitlin looks awesome in her skinnys, and you can definitely try the "tailored" trick on this look.

ANKLE BOOTS + RIPPED JEANS
This look is a new one for me. Ripped jeans I can do...but a ripped hem?! I was a little weary, but now I am totally digging it. A bit biker/rocker chic, all you have to do is grab a pair of scissors and cut your jeans at the ankle. If you are a beginner, it might be best to take them to a tailor, but for the DIYers out there just remember to check your measurements twice before grabbing those shears!!

ANKLE BOOTS + MATCHING JEANS
A monochromatic look gives the impression of long, lean legs (necessary for those of us without a Taylor Swift body). Bonus tip: choose shoes with a high heels to give you an extra tall and slender stature. Christina is rocking this look in all black topped with a complementary jacket + bag.

As you can see, there are tons of denim options to pair with your booties. Choose the style that suits you best and you will naturally rock this look. But the inspiration doesn't stop here!!
