We may be well into 2016, but it is by no means too late to start stocking up on all of this year's hottest trends. The start of April is a great shopping period. Not only are there tons of winter looks on sale, but you can also get a jumpstart on summer shopping.
From statement pieces in strong colors, to detailed embroideries and appliqués, we have had a stylish start to the year and I know the best is yet to come!
THE STATEMENT JACKET
While there are several staple jackets every woman needs - a tailored blazer, a neutral leather jacket, denim, a lightweight trench, and warm parka - there is also the need for one, statement coat! A colorful jacket, for example, with embroidered panels, or a statement print will always have you standing out of the fashion crowd.
If you're petite, opt for an arched jacket that ends at the waist, and if you're tall you should go for a longer silhouette, such as a long cardigan or trench. If you have a curvier figure stay away from embroideries and prints, which have a tendency to make your figure look larger. Opt instead for single colored pieces, or some cool color-blocking. Karla's patterned poncho is a perfect example of this statement must-have!!

RUFFLED TOPS
If you have a thin figure and you're not quite comfortable with wearing a crop top, a super low neckline might be a better option. Adding ruffles to a deep V balances the natural sex-appeal of this look. By adding volume where needed, ruffles distract attention away from troubled areas and give your outfit the perfect touch of femininity. Jane's top is perfectly paired with more masculine cargo pants, but I would also love to see it with a chic skirt or casual jeans.

FLARED JEANS
I've said it before and I will say it again, you must add a pair of flared jeans to your wardrobe if you haven't already!! You will be amazed at how many new looks a single piece of clothing can bring to your wardrobe. Flared jeans with a waist that hits at your belly-button will visually elongate the body, making you look slimmer and taller. One of my favorite things about this silhouette is that, unlike the notorious skinny jean, it flatters every figure! White flare jeans, like the ones seen here on Jessie, are one of my favorite trends for the summer.

THE PLEATED SKIRT
When it comes to feminine, trendy clothes you cannot overlook the pleated skirt. Unlike the classic pencil cut, a pleated skirt remains a pretty bold piece that can be worn in both classic and sporty-chic outfits to give them an extra touch femininity. Fashionistas love to wear medium length pleats with sneakers, but I personally prefer a more classic combination. Jenna's look is pleat perfection with a sporty leather bomber balanced with super feminine strappy stilettos.

Early spring is one of my favorite times of year because it tends to prompt a wardrobe revival. And since you'll be spring cleaning anyway, why not use this time as an excuse to spring clean your closet as well?!
