Handbag Design of the Week - Prada Inspires a Colorful Palette

The Handbag Dilemma - Our client was looking for a unique and beautiful bag that would carry her essentials while sitting comfortably on her small frame. A very confident woman, she wanted something equally outstanding and colorful. The handbag would ultimately be a representation of her personal style - a one-of-a-kind piece that no one else would have.

The Inspiration - Prada's most recent Spring 2014 Ready-To-Wear collection only seemed an appropriate source of inspiration, with its artistic elements making a feminist statement.  The use of bold, highly pigmented colors require a certain confidence to pull these pieces off.

The Sketches - The 'Sayde' shoulder bag proved to be the right size and silhouette for our client, and she loved the large tassel detailing. In order to incorporate more color into the current design Mel created a new pattern, tying in the rainbow-effect from Prada's spring '14 dress above. With help from our Facebook and Instagram communities, design #4 proved to be a fan and client favorite.

The Final Product- As quoted by our client, "The bag came out even more vibrant and beautiful in person than I expected.  Thank you for creating the perfect handbag I can wear all season!!" We have to say we are quite thrilled with the results ourselves!!
