Style Guide: Time To Update How You Wear Maxi Dresses

I love a good maxi dress just as much as the next girl, but am I the only one who is getting bored with seeing the same style over and over again? A girl can only buy the same dress with minor variations a few times before needing something new, which is exactly why I went on the hunt for some fresh ways to wear this easy, summer go-to. Luckily, I found tons of chic options, so read on for several ways to update the way you wear your maxi dress. 

GLAM STYLE MAXI DRESS

When it comes to picking a look for a night out, a dress is most often the perfect choice. A glamorous maxi dress is a delicate and feminine way to wear something unexpected for your upcoming date, and there's no denying its romance. Strong prints are trending right now, and can be a fun way to elevate this style. I also highly encourage metallics and a touch of sequins. Jenny's glamorous dress is absolutely gorgeous, and similar, more casual styles are super easy to find!

BOHO STYLE MAXI DRESS

Most of the maxi dresses I was wearing were boring, 70s-inspired cuts. While this style of dress is still very popular, adding some layers and a spunky jacket really makes this look special and gives it a needed upgrade. Add round sunglasses and a chic hat to really top it off. Alicia's dress is a great transition piece, and the layers really modernize her maxi!

A maxi dress evokes a sense of femininity like no other design can, even for a girl who loves the simplicity of jeans. I love a chambray version of this dress, because when worn properly it is a fun way to incorporate more denim into your wardrobe. Chambray is a comfortable yet chic fabric, so if you prefer you can add comfy sneakers to complete this look. Cathy's dress is a classic piece, and I especially love the ease of how she has styled it.

Through this process, I have loved pulling old maxi dresses out of my closet to revamp them with accessories, as much as I have enjoyed purchasing some new styles. A maxi dress is such an easy way to pull a quick outfit together, so the more options we have to wear this style, the better!
