Style Guide: Sipping Pretty In Napa

If you are a lover of great wines, fantastic food, or beautiful views (that should pretty much cover everyone), then the Napa Valley region of California is a must-visit destination to add to your bucket list. Most notable for its more than 400 wineries that surround the fertile soils, there is surprisingly much more to Napa than its prized cabernets. From lavish hotels to outdoor excursions, there is something to appease even the most discerning of palettes. That being said, your visit will most likely include some wine tasting along the way, so here’s what we suggest you pack to ensure you are always sipping in style…

1. Soft Neutrals

A tasting is never too far away, so naturally, you can expect to spend quite a bit of your time outdoors. Luckily, the temperatures in this part of California are quite mild with average daytime temperatures of 70°F (21°C) year-round. Soft neutrals will not only keep you comfortably cool as you explore – glass in hand, but they will also blend in beautifully with the naturally green and blue surroundings.

We love this midi-white dress, and a functional cross-body that doubles as a clutch makes packing light that much easier.

2.  His and Her Style

Although wine is quite nice on its own, when paired with delectable chocolates or savory cheeses it will take your tasting experience to a whole new level. Visiting Napa with your favorite guy or gal is no different.

For a romantic getaway, we suggest staying at the White House where you’ll experience a mini-resort style feel with lush gardens and an onsite spa conveniently located near the area’s best restaurants, shops, tasting rooms and nightlife. Pack your favorite floral wrap dress for you and a coordinating shirt for him, and you can toast to being perfectly in sync!

3. A Little Glam

If you need a small break from drinking (a big IF here), there is much more to Napa than all the wine. Museums, theaters, live music and art also make this area a great trip for a cultural experience to round out your summer.

For the best of all worlds, we might suggest The Hess Collection Winery, which mixes an art exhibition with wine tastings and culinary pairings. These more artistic excursions can handle an extra touch of glam, so be sure to pack your go-to black pants, classic heels, tailored blazer, and of course the perfect bag!
