#MelsMuses: Tatiana Barburasi of Fashion By Tati B

When you meet Tatiana for the first time, there is an instant allure and attraction that draws you in. Perhaps it is her super polished and chic, head-to-toe style (which, by the way, is always on point regardless if she's in her workwear or weekend attire), but mostly it's her innate confidence and poise that is perfectly balanced by her down-to-earth personality. It was Tatiana's fashion choices that initially caught our eye - leather pants, lace, corsets, chic hoodies, sneakers and the most exquisite collection of sky-high heels that all serve to emphasize her bold and modern style.

Born and raised in Maldova, Tatiana studied Journalism and Communications before making her way to the USA through an exchange program with a small group of ambitious college-grads looking for new opportunities and experiences. She landed in Atlanta about nine years ago, and hasn't looked back since, now calling the Southern capital home.

"I grew up always loving fashion, and can remember thrifting back in the day to recreate my favorite looks." A self-taught stylist turned fashion blogger, Tatiana's fearlessness does not stop with her personal style. She is always on the lookout for the next big thing to take her career to the next level, and she will soon be working as Fashion Contributor for a new Atlanta magazine launching this Fall. Hard-working and adventurous, but always on her style A-game, Tatiana is the perfect #MelsMuse and definitely one to watch!

What inspired the launch of your style blog?

I remember days when I was subscribed to tons of fashion blogs and websites via Google Reader. Every single day I would try to read them all or at least check them out, but they were so many and I would never see the end of it. I was hooked, admiring all these style bloggers, it was my daily dose of inspiration. This was even before Instagram came around. And then a friend of mine said to me: "You can do it too. Why don't you start a fashion blog?" And the rest is history.

What gets you most excited about the future of your fashion blog?

The FUTURE, that's what gets me excited! I want to see it grow and to be able to connect and work with people that share my same passion. I'd like to believe that SKY IS THE LIMIT here...😉

Where do you find inspiration?

There are days when I lack inspiration and I crave it badly. Magazines, style influencers and creative people overall help me find my own. I love watching fashion documentaries and going to the Art Museum just to keep an open and creative mind.

Too many places on my mind, but i would be happy if I could just make it to the beach this summer. Scheduling and a mixture of some other stuff going on made me have to cancel the trip three times already 😩

What do you wear on the weekend?

It really depends on what's going on that weekend. I could be wearing jeans and sneakers or totally dressed up and chic if I'm attending an event.

What do you love about the Mel Boteri bag you chose for your #MelsMuses feature?

I love the 'Emmy' clutch because it's very practical and versatile. You can use it as the perfect evening clutch and as a daytime cross-body bag. I love a small cross-body bag where you can throw in your wallet and keys and you are good to go. Not to mention how perfect the color and the print is...I love neutrals!

What tips do you have for other women looking to let their personal style shine through?

Don't be afraid to try new stuff, new styles...get out of your comfort zone and experiment. Be confident but also careful knowing where to stop. You never know what you may fall in love with. And the most important thing is to stick to what looks good on YOU and not others.
