Along with a classic LBD, nude stilettos, and the perfect boyfriend tee, jeans remain a wardrobe staple. Give a woman the right pair of jeans and she can conquer the world!
Over the years, denim jeans have evolved in length, color, cut and style. One season high-waisted is all the craze, the next it's a silhouette so slim you can barely squeeze into them. No matter the current trend, jeans will without a doubt continue to be a part of American fashion.
STAYING STRONG: FLARED JEANS AND HIGH WAISTS
Flared jeans are the must-have piece of 2016. This was a new one for me, as I am pretty committed to my skinny jeans. But really it's no wonder they have made a come back, as they compliment just about every figure: they lengthen a voluptuous body, they balance out a pear-shaped silhouette and they add some extra femininity to very thin frames.
The high waist on jeans visually thins the body and create the impression of endless, long legs. Mel's Tip: high-waisted, flare jeans look best when paired with a little bit of a heel. Jane's look is the perfect example of how the combination of these two trends is a modern essential!

EMERGING TREND: DENIM CULOTTES
Jeans that imitate the silhouette of culottes are coming onto the fashion scene this year. These are basically a shorter, baggier version of boyfriend jeans. Although it seems hard to believe, denim culottes are quite versatile and I truly believe they will find their place in even the most classic of wardrobes. I am loving Maria's take, which has me wanting to try this new trend asap!

BOYFRIEND JEANS: STILL TRENDY?
The answer: Definitely yes! Only this year the cut is not as wide as in previous years making this jean much easier to pull off. No longer categorized as super loose hip huggers, the boyfriend jean is now the perfect option even for voluptuous women who may have been turned off by this look in the past. Need an example of the new boyfriend/skinny hybrid? Look no further than Margo And Me's Jenny, whose jeans are stylishly sleek, easy to wear and (the best part) super flattering!

ALWAYS STYLISH: SKINNY JEANS
The era of skinny jeans doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. This silhouette is still the base for tons of outfits. While skinny jeans were once for the most daring of fashionistas, they are now a staple in almost every wardrobe.
Wear them rolled up, with the chicest pumps or block heels. Jenna models my favorite way to wear this (now) classic, with a slouchy sweater and over the knee boots!

Happy Denim Days!!
